About Us
“Far Western Nepalese Society of Victoria (FWNSV) was incorporated in Melbourne Victoria on 3 December 2017 under the Associations Incorporation Reform Act 2012”
Association’s Objectives
This association aims to bring together all the people migrated from the Far Western Development Region of Nepal (Now Province No. 7, Far Western Province) to Australian state of Victoria to promote, share and conserve their culture, language and festive events. Far Western part of Nepal has more diversity in terms of culture and language in comparison to other parts of Nepal. The main objectives are:
‣ To organise not-for-profit social activities, festival events, cultural activities and sports events,
‣ To promote networking among community members,
‣ To provide financial and moral support to community members in times of need,
‣ To promote and conserve culture and languages of far-western part of Nepal so that they can be transferred to next generation.
Our Mission
The mission of the association is to promote and conserve traditional cultures and foods of Far Western part of Nepal by organising different community events and activities. Being away from the country of birth and in new environment, effect of new culture, food and other activities are prominent and community members tend to forget their traditional cultures. The members of second generation who are born in Australia or elsewhere outside Nepal will not know about our traditions, cultures and foods if not transferred and taught to them. Therefore, FWNSV aims to bring together all community members to share their knowledge, experiences and talents among other members of the community through festival events, sports activities and other cultural programs.
